Ardeche Carmargue 2023
08 August 2023
It has been two wonderful weeks in the South of France. My parents and I visited the Ardeche first, which is a river flowing through huge green canyons.
The landscape is stunning, and you can decide to either use the car to drive next to the canyon or lend one of the many canoes offered by the local businesses. We did both and it is amazing. The canyon is about 30km long, so to see everything I recommend the car. But if you are paddling in your canoe you are right in between the high cliffs and to endure the 30°C heat a bath can be taken every time you want.
Afterwards we drove down to the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and to a region named Carmargue. There a national park with a lot of wildlife can be visited. Pink coloured flamingos catch the viewer’s eyes from kilometres away, and the variety of birds and mammals that can be found here is stunning. Just don’t forget your insect spray, the mosquitos are relentless.
